Taylor Swift kicked off The Eras Tour last weekend and has already given us some iconic and viral moments. From the unforgettable Vigilante Shit choreography to the stage dive, Taylor is truly giving it her all. Whilst we wait for more shows this coming weekend, let’s recap the most memorable moments so far.
First things first, what is The Eras Tour?
In November last year, Taylor announced The Eras Tour shortly after dropping her latest album ‘Midnights’.
As described by Taylor herself, The Eras Tour is ‘a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present)’ . This type of tour is usually done towards the end of an artist’s career, or as a comeback, but this was a huge surprise from Taylor Swift as she continues to go. Featuring opening acts such as Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM, The Eras Tour takes us from Debut all the way to Midnights.
The first leg of the tour has kicked off in the US, with international dates hopefully being announced soon (i’m crying too guys). Whilst we wait for more, here’s her most iconic moments from The Eras Tour so far;
The Opening Sequence
The opening sequence for The Eras Tour is ICONIC. It features the line ‘it’s been a long time coming’ from Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince with a mashup of hits from previous albums. The visuals are stunning and it literally gave me goosebumps when I saw it.
The Iconic Stage Dive
This is an incredibly impressive stunt, allowing Taylor to transition into the Midnights era, but it’s equally absolutely hilarious. This compilation sums it up well;
Vigilante Shit Choreography
I can’t be the only one who’s jaw was on the FLOOR when I saw this routine. A long running joke with Swifties is ‘Can Joe Alwyn [her boyfriend] fight?‘ everytime Taylor does something like this. We’re all ready to fight. This performance was mind-blowing and I need it tattooed on my forehead immediately.
The I Knew You Were Trouble Hair
At Glendale Night 2, there seemed to be a little malfuction in the hair department that resulted in this hilarious video.
The Whole Tolerate It Performance
We all know Taylor Swift is a brilliant storyteller in her songs, but for The Eras Tour she has reallly brought those skills to life. Check out the incredible performance for Tolerate It.
First Live Performance of Cruel Summer
Ever since the Lover album was released back in 2019, Swifties have been waiting for this day – the day we finally got to hear Cruel Summer live. Known for it’s iconic bridge, Cruel Summer is certainly a fan favourite. Check it out;
Taking us Back to Church with Don’t Blame Me
Do we all remember the iconic Don’t Blame Me performance from the Reputation tour? Taylor brings it back for The Eras Tour, once again taking us to church with her insane vocals. Swifties often use this as a comeback for anyone who claims she can’t sing;
The Viral TikTok Dance for Bejeweled
Following the release of Midnights last year, TikToker Mikael Arellano brought us the iconic Bejeweled strut and shimmer dance –
It soon became a viral trend with hundreds of thousands of users recreating it. And guess what? Taylor seems to have caught on to the trend. For The Eras Tour, she recreates Mikael’s dance –
Confirming she doesn’t hate Evermore
If you’re even vaguely in the Swiftie community, you’ll know it’s been a running joke for a while that Taylor neglected the Evermore album, or that it’s her least favourite of her discography. On the opening night of The Eras Tour she put a rest to the rumours, joking with the audience that she’s here to dispell the allegations before performing her much-loved ballad Champagne Problems.
Before we wrap things up, let’s give a special mention to this iconic security guard who was having the time of her life – a dream job!
Are you guys enjoying The Eras Tour content? Are you attending a show? Let me know! I’ll be sat at home living vicariously through everyone in the US until the UK dates are announced :’).
