What I Watched In February: Healing My Inner Teenager And New Obsessions

Here we are again with a recap of what I’ve watched this month. Whether you’re a little nosy and want to know what I’ve been watching, or are looking for something new to add to your watchlist, let’s get into this!

Here we are again with a recap of what I’ve watched this month! I really enjoyed writing January’s post, so thought I’d continue throughout the year! This year I’m determined to expand my horizons of what I watch. I’ll be honest, I usually just rewatch the same old TV shows and movies. Who can blame me when Grey’s Anatomy exists? Anyway, whether you’re a little nosy and want to know what I’ve been watching, or are looking for something new to add to your watchlist, let’s get into this!

Black Bear

Black Bear, Momentum Pictures

Black Bear is a thriller that follows the story of a film maker seeking inspiration from a rural retreat that turns creepy and intense. The selling point for me was, of course, Aubrey Plaza. I am obsessed with her work so was keen to give this movie a go. Honestly, in the first half of the movie I was a little confused at what was happening but as it continues I was mind blown. The narrative is unique and is an incredible story about the chaotic breakdown of relationships through film.

Eli

Eli, Paramount Pictures

Eli is a horror movie that came out a couple of years ago and I’m so glad I watched it this month! It’s about a young boy with an illness that means he can’t go outside, so is isolated in a facility that claims to be able to cure him. As the story unfolds, we learn more about the corrupt practices in the facility and that perhaps everything isn’t as it seems. It’s an incredible movie, but I felt like a lot of the story only really unraveled towards the end. I think I expected a little more as a horror fan, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you’re into scary movies.

Four Good Days

Four Good Days, Vertical Entertainment

Four Good Days is about an adult (Mila Kunis) struggling with drug addiction who makes an attempt to get clean with the help of her mother (Glenn Close). I think this is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Seeing Kunis play a different character than her usual roles was amazing, she was brilliant. There were so many points that I cried whilst watching this, desperately rooting for Molly as a character. I just found out that this is loosely based on a true story of a woman, Amanda Wendler, which makes the story even more inspiring and emotional. It touches on a sensitive subject matter and really helps you feel empathy for the character’s situation.

Teen Wolf: The Movie

Teen Wolf: The Movie, Paramount+

I’m being so serious when I say that this movie healed my inner teenager. I was obsessed with Teen Wolf back in the day and would spend any spare time I had watching it. It was the ultimate supernatural TV show for me and a definitive part of my teenage years. I was ecstatic when they announced the movie and it did not disappoint. Spoilers ahead! The reunion of Allison and Scott was everything I needed to see after her death in the original show. The reunion of the cast, minus Dylan O’Brien, was incredible. It was so amazing to see them all grown up. I’d highly recommend the movie, and the tv show, for anyone who loves some spooky werewolf supernatural stuff.

This Is Us: Season 6

This Is Us, NBC

I have loved this TV show since the very beginning. I meaaan, Milo Ventimiglia?? My Gilmore Girls people know what I’m talking about. This Is Us details the lives of a family through different intervals in life, constantly going back and forth between the 80s, 90s and present day. It is a beautiful tale of the reality of family and you truly grow to love, understand and appreicate the characters. In February, I watch the final season, Season 6, and was amazed, I literally binged it all in two days. It’s by far the best season. I balled my eyes out watching it. If you’ve never watched it, give it a go! Six season of incredible stories? What more could you want.

You: Season 4

You, Netflix

In February, the highly anticipated season 4 of You was released. I’m a big fan of this show and, not going to lie, I think this season was a little overhyped. Don’t get me wrong, it was great, but not was I expected in comparison to previous seasons. It does take us to a completely new part of the world with a completely new cast, so it was interesting to watch those characters develop. I’m exci

Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars, Stu Segall Productions

I love old TV shows from the early 2000s and I’m so surprised I’d never heard of this show. I love Kristen Bell and couldn’t wait to watch this. Veronica Mars is about the daughter of a private detective and follows her life as she begins her own investigative work into her best friends murder. Throughout the seasons, we see her help solve crimes and other issues that happen in her town. It is so 2000s in every way and so far I’m loving it. I’m up to season 5 and literally can’t stop watching it. If you’re feeling a little nostalgic and need some 2000s comfort, watch this!
