In 2023, we have more choice than ever before with vegan and plant-based options in our supermarkets. Here’s our list of the best vegan supermarket ranges in the UK.

In 2023, we have more choice than ever before with vegan and plant-based options in our supermarkets. Being a little more planet and animal friendly is getting much easier. According to research by NielsenIQ, there are an estimated 2.7 million households in the UK with vegan residents. With this growth is veganism and meat/dairy free living, our favourite supermarkets are keeping up. Here’s our list of, in our opinion, the best vegan supermarket ranges in the UK.

Aldi’s Plant Menu Range

Aldi is such an underrated supermarket, but it’s the best place to go for some bargains. I’ve recently noticed a huge spike in their vegan and plant-based options, particularly in the frozen section. With more affordable access to vegan alternatives, it makes making the switch so much easier!

Our personal favourites:

  • Meat-Free Meatballs
  • Katsu No Chicken Fillets
  • Battered No Chicken Balls
  • No Chicken Kievs
  • Salt & Vinegar No Fish Fillets

Sainsbury’s Plant Pioneers

Sainsbury’s launched their Plant Pioneers range in early 2020, and since then we have seen a huge growth in the variety of vegan alternatives they offer. From ready made meals to desserts, they’ve certainly hit every craving with more environmentally friendly options.

Our personal favourites;

  • No Mince Meat
  • No Chicken Chunks
  • No Duck Spring Rolls

Asda’s Plant-Based

Between Asda’s OMV! and Plant Based range, there are over 100 products available to vegans/vegetarians. The Plant Based range is definitely our favourite (and a little more affordable!) It’s so great to see an expanding range of our favourite foods being made vegan.

  • Mushroom Sausages
  • Veggie Fingers
  • Meat-Free Meatballs

Tesco’s Wicked Kitchen

Tesco’s Wicked Kitchen range is one of the best vegan supermarket brands out there at the moment. It is a little more expensive than other supermarkets, but the range of options that they offer is incredible.

  • Doughballs With Roasted Garlic Dip
  • Strawberry Vegan Cheesecake
  • Super Cinnamon Scrolls
  • Spicy Pepper-No-Ni Pizza

Morrison’s Plant Revolution

Morrisons is great for general free from products – anything from gluten free to vegan! Their frozen section holds a vast range of different brands, but their own brand, Plant Revolution, is a great one to try.

  • Cheezy Does It Pizza
