As we all know by now, Taylor Swift is currently in the process of re-recording her first six albums. Following a messy situation with Scooter Braun, who sold the rights to Swift’s music for an estimated $300 million, she has made groundbreaking moves to rightfully own the rights to her music again.

So far, we have Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). Swifties have been speculating which album will come next, with many clues in the last few weeks making us suspect Speak Now – and we were right!

So, the announcement! At her Nashville show on Friday 5th, Taylor reaches the part of the show where she plays surprise songs. These are songs throughout her career that aren’t on the Eras Tour set list, with new songs played at each show.

Before starting the first song, Taylor says –

There’s also a different reason why I’m excited about this part of the set tonight because I’ve been planning something for a while… It’s my love language with you, I plot, I scheme, I plan, and then I get to tell you about it… I think rather than me speaking about it – I would just show you

The stadium was filled with an uproar of fans screaming as they saw the announcement and their light-up bracelets turned purple – Speak Now’s colour. Swift went on to sing a fan favourite from the album, Sparks Fly.

Shortly after, Taylor posted the official announcement on social media

Here’s what we know so far.

Release date: July 7th 2023 (just in time for July 9th)

Six extra songs will be added ‘sprung loose’ from the vault, Taylor’s place where she kept old songs that never made it onto the album. That gives us a total of 22 songs to look forward to.

Honestly, the best part has been fans’ reactions to the announcement. To share our excitement, here are a few of our favourites –

What song are you most excited to hear re-recorded? Haunted is number one for us, but we can’t wait to see what she does with Better Than Revenge.

with love (and don’t forget to Speak Now),
