Halloween is just one day away and costumes are one of the most exciting parts. Celebrities really know how to pull out all the stops. Whether it’s classic film characters, or something a little more niche, they know what they’re doing. Let’s take a look at 11 of the most iconic celebrity Halloween costumes throughout history.
1. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco as Alice and Mad Hatter
We’ve got to kick it off with something from 2024, right? Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are one of our IT celebrity couples at the moment. When we saw this on Instagram, our jaws dropped. Couples costumes can be hit or miss, and this blows it out of the park – it’s spot on.
2. Taylor and Taylor Lautner as Timothée and Pete
In 2020, Timothée Chalamet and Pete Davidson’s SNL performance was all the internet could talk about. So, in 2023, Taylor and Taylor Lautner did what was only natural and dressed up as this incredible SNL duo. This costume has been an incredibly popular costume, so we’re sure to see more Timothées and Petes in 2024.
3. Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum as Rosemary’s Baby
Channing and Zoe took inspiration from the 1968 film Rosemary’s Baby last year. The pair headed to Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party in their own unique interpretation of the film. This was one of the most talked about celebrity Halloween costumes last year, and for a good reason!
4. Rihanna as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
One of the most fashionable celebrities went all in in 2014, dressing as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. For any group of four, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a go to costume and Rihanna and her pals totally rocked it. This is the definition of going all out for your Halloween costume and committing to the bit.
5. Heidi Klum as a Worm
There’s no doubt that Heidi Klum is the queen of Halloween. From Teen Wolf to an alien, she continues to one-up everyone year after year. Her best look, however, has got to be her 2022 costume – a worm. It’s so hilarious, yet so brilliantly done. This look is one of her most shocking, yet most creative looks to date.
6. Harry Styles as Elton John
Harry is all about going all-out with his looks, so it’s no surprise that he does the same for Halloween. Our favourite look of his has got to be the 2018 Elton John costume. Styles dressed specifically as Elton’s outfit from a Dodgers Stadium performance in 1975 – iconic.
7. Lupita N’yongo as Dionne from Clueless
Old school film characters make for such a good costume, they’re easily recognisable and so simple to do. Lupita went above and beyond for her Clueless costume in 2018 and we are in love with the look. She’s got everything down perfectly, even if that phone is a little overkill.
8. Rita Ora as Post Malone
In 2018, Rita shut down Halloween by eating everyone up with this Post Malone look. She’s got everything down, from the outfit to the tattoos. Post Malone Halloween costumes have been really popular over the years. Do you think we’ll see more of him this year?
9. Sophie Turner as Trinity
We’re convinced that Sophie Turner would eat up any look she wears for Halloween, but this The Matrix look blew everyone away. Over the weekend, Sophie attended a Halloween party and absolutely nailed Carrie-Anne Moss’ character.
10. Saweetie as Edward Scissorhands
Any Tim Burton character is a go-to Halloween look for most people. Saweetie put a fun and girly spin on one of Tim’s biggest characters, Edward Scissorhands. Saweetie’s nail artist, Temeka Jackson, actually created these nails just for this look. Now, that’s committment!
11. Katy Perry as a cheeto
There’s nothing we love more than costumes that are so unserious. And that’s exactly what Katy Perry did in 2014 when she dressed as a cheeto. These are the kind of looks we want to see more of this year. Give us those weird girl looks all day.
